Progress Update

Imagination, art, and creativity are the source of how universes are created. Anyone who says otherwise lacks imagination.

In the previous dev journal, the panels for displaying pet information were completed to a reasonable degree for the current intended purpose until the next round of functionality comes around for added features, usability, esthetics, and more.

Afterward, the focus shifted to the Pet Combat System and all related systems and sub-systems. The Pet Combat System will take a considerable amount of time to complete, but the goal isn't completion; it is to get it to the point where it is usable for testing purposes.

The first step for the combat system was to handle the synchronization packets to perform the appropriate logic, including displaying the enemy world creature models onto the stage. Once that was done, the collision boundaries were added for aggro radius to initiate the beginning of the combat.

There are numerous synchronization packets on combat initiation success that need to be handled, followed by the battle commencing. When the battle begins after the synchronization packets, the combat UI needs to be assembled to show the user the current state of the battle and relay any appropriate information through the combat UI.

In addition to that, the purpose of the pet combat UI system is to get user input to perform specific actions from the player. These are the tactical decisions that the user must make to win the battle and receive the rewards of the battle.

Currently, the combat UI displays the Circular action menu in a very basic form when selecting a target. This is still in the early phases of development, but it is enough to get the point across of how the combat actions are selected.

The available selectable actions displayed are dynamically created and displayed depending on the target selected and will eventually show other details such as cooldowns on abilities and additional relevant information.

On one final note, I would like to remind the players that we are nearing Halloween. The now popular Halloween event will occur, and this time, there may be something else too, no spoilers.
